It troubled me for a while that my item limit was so small in game and I had difficulty locating backpack sellers mentioned in loading screens so when I found one - I decided to create a help message for others. So, your first backpack can be bought from Rikka Egest in Corner Shop (Gorhart village) for 7500 gold, so you might wanna save until you can buy one.
